12.1in notebook

Does Dell plan on releasing a new 12.1in notebook this summer? I currently have the 700m but I am thinking about something new. I see HP 2133. Its pretty slick but too small and lacks DVD drive. I think 12.1in is the smallest laptop I will buy.

In july after Montavia comes out Dell is releasing there new systems but I don't think a 12.1 inch laptop is comming out

Ugg..hopefully you are wrong. So the smallest Dell laptop will be 13.3in will be the smallest size they make? Thats not really that much smaller than 14in. I guess my next laptop may not be by Dell then. I really like the size of the 700m. Its the perfect size for portability.

I just sold my 700m and bought an XPS M1330. The M1330 weighs less than the 700m depending on your battery selection (4/6/9 cell), its only about an inch bigger all the way around and its definitely thinner.

Dell will be releasing a 12.1 inch notebook in September called the "E Slim" which will be competing with the MacBook Air and X300.

Man.. I miss my 710m so much!! Never had a SINGLE issue with it..

The 1210m has been nothing but problems!!

Whats the 1210m? I never heard of it. I am assuming its 12.1in notebook. What problems you had with it? Thats how I feel about the 700m; it still runs perfectly and looks great, it could be thinner. But I am kinda itching for a new 12.1in laptop...but I don't know which to get. Vista is still having its problems so I might just wait a while.

Personally, if you're going to drop down to a 12.1in, you might as well get an UMPC such as the HP 2133. They lack power and features obviously but then again how many people actually encode videos and play Crysis on their laptops anyways?
