Nehalem 3DMark Vantage Benchmark, 45% Faster than Yorkfield

Computex 'scores' another Nehalem leak: Nehalem 45% faster than a Yorkie at same clock speeds...

As expected, Computex has resulted in a leaked benchmark with Intel's upcoming Nehalem architecture. The processor in question was a quad-core Bloomfield running at 2.66GHz on a Tylersburg X58 motherboard. Running through Futuremark's recently relased 3D benchmark 3DMark Vantage, the Bloomfield processor scored an impressive 16,334 CPU score. That's about 45% higher than a Core-based Yorkfield processor operating at the same frequency, says VR-Zone. It certainly looks like we're in for a treat this winter.

maybe not upgrading this spring was a good idea

It may indeed have been. In reading some of the intel from the sites reporting on Computex - Nehalem may launch earlier than originally reported. The vast majority of supporting hardware is already developed - including a crapload of 1366 X58 motherboards.

The only thing we will see (most lilkely) late to the table is a NV chipset that supports Nehalem - NV and Intel still arguing over licensing.

Well I didn't upgrade this spring for a number of reasons, and particularly because the only game i play hardcore is TF2 which runs beautiful on my setup.

This stuff looks very promising.
