well is 6.1 surround sound good enough for you?!?!?!!?!!??!

but will the speakers in the laptop be better than 1W? all 6 of them??? Maybe I should trash the $350 pair of speakers i built for my 6W of dolby kind-of-all-in-front-of-me sound

I would assume that this would be output through optical or SPDIF somehow...any conjecture?

Lol, if you really want good sound, just get the external audigy. It's a removeable part that's easy to upgrade. I think video cards should work the same way; then they'd be REALLY easy to overclock.

I dont know, all I know is that the motherboard supports 6.1 decoding?

I dont know **** about sound all that much but 6.1 is very good. Also no laptops dont have 6 speakers its just the hardware built inside it that takes advantage of external speakers so ims ure there be lots of new plugins for sound instead of 1 headphone 1 spdif and im sure the speakers for the future designs should be a lot better (at least god lets hopes so) lol

Some good speakers

I have tried all of these and I like!!!!

From low priced to monster!!

1] Creative 2.1 speakers (now for 19 dollars at best buy after rebates)
2] Altec Lansing ATP3 (very very good IMO - the speakers are very nice with SOLID sound and bass)
3] Klipsch ProMedia thx 5.1 ($399.00) but worth it

and finally

Logitech Z680 digital speakers...

these spank the birds nest everytime!! No point in trying to explain the sound quality - you have to listen to them yourselves. SPDIF ready too!!

Laptop speakers

Forget getting better speakers in laptops - I wish they would do away with them all together and just give us headphone sockets.

These speakers just add to the weight and the magnetic interference inside the laptop - better out than in...

The toshiba subwoofer thing is a joke lol I listened to it and was ROLF!!!

the toshi without the subwoofer is pretty good - better than the 5660 by a long way in terms of solid sound - no tinny sound there.
