Microphone on A215-S4697 not working

Hi,
I have a A215-S4697 and yesterday the mic just stopped working without any error or something. So when i plug in the mic it shows that there is a mic pluged in but nos sound at all.I had vista and Xp installed it didn't work on both of them. So i made a new clean install of vista but its not working again...The speakers are working fine...Does that mean that the sound card is broken? Please helllp

If the speakers are working its not the sound card. Try another mic. I'd lay odds thats where your problem is

No i've tried 3 different mics an its not them...

what software were u using when u tested the mics?

I tried evrything that i have: Skype, AIM, Sound Recorder and the strange thing is that sound recorder recognise it as a mic cause it wouldn't start if it wasn't like that 't and skype doesnt say problem with the recording device

i had the same problem once, with Skype. And it was one of the check box insde the audio properties that caused the mic from recording. dont remember which one. try urself again, expand the properties boxes and toggle between pc and microphone option
