Problems with a Toshiba X200 Geforce 8700m GT

Hi!

I feel pretty bad having to post here, since I really did try hard at fixing this myself, but had to admit defeat in the end.
I think my problem is similar to that of several forum users - toshiba hasn't updated its official graphical drivers for what seems like a geological period now, and I would like to play some new games...

The computer is a Toshiba x200, with a Geforce 8700M GT with 512 megs.

So I tried used modded drivers (first tried the first ones from laptopvideo2 go), and the 175.16 from this very forum. They all give rather mixed results. They do work, but now, when I play video files, once every 5 minutes, I see green pixels that form colums on the video, remain for a while, and then go away. I did not have those problems before. Also, when I click on the windows icon, and try selecting programs, the screen blinks several times, really quickly... It's spooky.

I did this the "right way" - followed the guide on updating drivers scrupulously, but it did not help.

I also had a total freeze while I was watching a video file and tried to select programs.

So I was wondering if there was somebody else here on the board with the same card, or the same computer, or somebody really knowledgeable, who could point me to drivers that definitely work?

Thanks a lot.

Try the 175.80 OEM ones on laptopvideo2go.com. Of course follow the same uninstall instructions as before.
