How to connect logitech speakers to my laptop

Hi all! I need help connecting my Logitech X-530 speakers to my Dell Latitude D830 laptop. I'm assuming that I need to buy something (sound card maybe) to do this. Any help, recommendations or links to the solution is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The D830 only supports 2 channel audio. To use your particular speakers you have three options...

PCMCIA Soundcard with appropriate dongle cable

Express Card soundcard with appropriate dongle

PCI Sound card in a DDock expansion station.

I have the same speakers as you only the 2.1 version, they sound great considering their low price.

The DDock also has a S/PDIF output, however I've never used it and to do so would require a receiver with digital coax input.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking that an external USB sound card would suit me best. Would something like this work?...http://lt.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=16779
I don't want something too bulky and expensive like this...http://computers.pricegrabber.com/po...rs/m/32539413/.
So, a small relatively cheap product would be ideal. My only need for such a product is to just listen to my music.

Yeah, forgot about the USB soundcards, that first one you linked should work fine.

This may be stating the obvious but the first link is to a dongle for the X-Fi Express card that you have to already own in order to plug the dongle into it.

Also: I have the exact same story with my E1705 and X-530 speakers. I bought the X-Fi card on here for $45 and once I save up some more money I'll buy the dongle from Creative (it's shame that no one sells it used; but apparently not many people own them/want to sell them)

Thanks for the replies. Now, my decision is whether or not to buy this sound cardhttp://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?sku=A1164635&cs=19&c=us&l=en&dgc=SS&cid=30322&lid=680413 and connect it to this sound docking module http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=16&product=1674 If I do this, then I will be paying MORE for this set up than the actual speakers. Is there any cheaper alternative or websites that have cheaper prices then those listed above?

As I said, I bought mine on a forum so I would just keep an eye on the for sale/trade section on here and maybe do a craigslist search or look on some other forums.

But sadly it does cost a lot to get the correct outputs from Dell laptops.
