Acer Aspire 5100 CPU Spikes; I quit.

So here is the deal. I have an Acer Aspire 5100 AMD 62x dualcore tk-53 i think its at like 1.7ghz, it came with Vista, I put XP back on it, came with 1gb of ram I upgraded to 4gb hoping it would run fine. To get to the point. When I first got the computer it ran great, however now sometime with it has brought it to this annoying spike in my CPU. I've tried everything I could to keep it down, but it spikes over 100% randomly and at the worst times. I've ran Process Explorer and watched when it spiked, nothing unusual. I've watched my task manager, nothing unusual. I've defraged, ran virus scans, disabled my virus protection, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, reformated, restarted, any and everything I could. I bought a stand for the laptop and a fan so it doesnt overheat. I've check my power settings, my page file remains the same around 555 on average even during the spikes. I'm going completely insane trying to track this problem down, so if anyone could give me any type of lead, I would GREATLY appreciate it.
(Sorry for the novel of a post)

-Thanks

I forgot to mention, I've got SP2, DX 9.0c and all my latest drivers. I've even rolled back and still have the same issue. I feel like I'm going to have to scrap this laptop soon...

did u try to update the processor driver as well?

You might also check if the bios has an update that addresses that issue.

Sorry to bump this, but I have yet to find a solution.
I think I've updated the processor, and I'm horrified to touch anything with the bios. I've completely uninstalled my wireless card and went directly through a wired connection to no avail. I have other computers on my network that run perfect, other laptops included. I took some screen shots from playing counter strike source to show everyone what its doing. Once again, thanks for anything you guys can help figure out ahead of time.
(Note* In game using "Net_graph 1" my ping will jump over 500, while latency sits at an average 40)

Thanks again.

there are a few processes that i would disable at start, based on your task manager screen shot (jussched, ati* ..)

i would try this route first. The cpu usage is way within the norm, as i can see

cheers ...

Do not be afraid to update your BIOS. It is simple to do. If you know how to click "Next" then you can update it.

you may have a bad cpu. I haven't had much luck with the TK-53's and have had several of them fail. at the very least, pull the heatsink and make sure the cpu and the northbridge are making good contact.

I think this to be my problem. I've tried everything I could by web research and everything I could think of out of my own knowledge and still have yet to fix this problem. I've noticed it happens when I use YouTube and other websites like it. If anyone finds anything out on this problem I'd still like to fix it, however with a new desktop on the way, I'm going to leave this stress on the back burner till I can figure it out.

I'm not going to be 100% correct when I say this however, I've come to find out that it tends to be a heat issue. Most people will disagree and blame something else but I've tried almost everything possible. I bought a new chillpad, and got a mini-fan to blow right on my computer and I've yet to see the problem again. So I'm not sure if this fix is for everyone however, just placing the chillmat and using a glass table stopped the delays until I ran Oblivion. Then I used the fan, no problems. Try to significantly cool your laptop and see if it makes any difference. Just a fan or chillmat alone wouldn't do the trick for me, try a combination, see what works best.
