Back on topic ... I really am looking for the perfect notebook, haven't found it yet. I'd give the Envy +++ for style, the MacBook Air +++ for being thin (and running OSX), the Dell 1330 for having killer performance in an albeit slightly heavier package, the Asus U6 for power and performance in a tiny package, but my heart still goes out to the m15x for a killer gaming machine in a reasonable package
I agree with everything you've just said. You've earned the right to amass a nice collection of hardware after putting in so many years of hard work.

All of the notebooks you talk about are killer in their own way, and no single ultra-thin notebook will be able to meet the needs of everyone. Some come close, but can't so it all...

I do not have a need for an ultra-thin at this time, but I do have a need for a replacement notebook for this m5500. To fill that void, I am seriously looking at the m15x.

No regrets on the m15x here. This thing is awesome!

In my opinion, Voodoo doesn't generate enough discussion to get a section of its own. Adding Voodoo to the HP/Compaq section makes more sense.

I second that!
Or maybe just the HP/Compaq Notebook sub-section instead of the major section.
So it would read "Compaq/HP/Voodoo Notebooks"

Well maybe the new notebook line would generate more discussion? We could try it and see how it works. But i'll do whatever the community wants.

I have no interest whatsoever in a Voodoo section.

done. Compaq / HP is now Compaq / HP / Voodoo

Oh great, now NBF is going to be overrun with the tens of thousands of Voodoo customers...

just think hammer... you can find your voodoo doppleganger and spend eternity telling either they picked the wrong brand.

as for the voodoo machine, its pretty of course, but what i really want to see is a resurrection of the sentia line from AW along the same lines as the xps m1330 and the macbook air.... now that would be a sweet spot.

I'd love to see Hammer vs Voodoo people..

You know, we need some excitement around here. Maybe The Commish will buy that Alienware finally ... that would generate some comments

commish will never buy the AW, we all know that shaz.

i still want to see the upcoming 17 inchers from voodoo. and if their 15 inch machine is reasonably priced and spec'd i would even consider it as my next machine.

I second that! Ultra Portables seem to be making a comeback in a big way.....

My opinion of Voodod has always been they charge WAY too much for the same components from other companies. A few weeks ago when I was considering a gaming laptop I looked at the following brands: AW, Voodoo, Hypersonic, and Falcon. What I discovered is that AW offered the best bang for the buck, followed by Hypersonic, then Falcon, and Voodoo pulling up the rear. While I understand that Voodoo is a high end PC boutique, charging $800 more for something I can get much less at AW and Hypersonic is a little ridiculous which btw had almost the same specs.
