Five minutes ago I replaced the totally hardened cooling paste on the CPU for this notebook, and the running temperature fell with 20 degrees. So now I'm wondering if I should do the same thing with the VGA chip. But it seems like that will be a whole other process, with full dismantling (the CPU is under a neat, little lid, so that was two screws to get to). Has anybody done this on their notebooks, and how much work/difficult work is it? I have built and rebuilt at least between 50 and 100 regular computers, but I haven't worked much on notebooks.
