yes it will be normal when they release a new laptop due to the high volume of orders that come in... also if not all the parts can be filled by all the orders then the estimated ship date will be longer... but if they get the parts in faster then you may get your laptop faster.... i know its hard to wait but it is worth it when you unpackage it and then ur like a fat kid in a candy store....

Congrats on your order!
I'm kind of in the same boat as you, waiting on my m15x and I’m overly excited!!!

As far as I know none of the m17x have not shipped yet so there might be a delay.
Given the performance results of the m15x seen so far, the m17x should be a monster and definitely worth the delay

HERE is a good example of what it feels like when you get a new AW in the mail

Stop teasing him!
Congrats on your order. Hope it comes sooner rather than later.

Do you like the m17x more than the m9750? You're getting the same graphics card, and the m9750 is cheaper...

The m9750 caps with the T7600 CPU, which barely meets the min system requirement for the most demanding games like Crysis... this person has the m17x configured with the T9300.

But i definitely see your point, if i could live with a 17" notebook i'd get the m17x with 2x 8800 GTX's. But total cost is a factor for most…

Congrats!!

a 2.0 ghz core 2 duo processor will run crysis... its not a CPU demanding as it is a GPU demanding game....

My 9750 does not have the same graphics card, it has the 7950GTX
this new one is SLI, with two 512 meg cards.

I like the design of the M17x, hence why I purchased it

I have a kick ass home system with dual Core2Quad and SLI setup with 2 8800GTX Ultra, which is my main gaming rig, which is why I could not see myself spending additional $800+ bucks for the graphics cards.

Ok, is ALienware a little backwards?
I went from Phase 4 to Phase 3, seems like they have some incompetent people doing the database work.

I'd shoot them an email, they your actually phase is normally higher then what's on the web site.

But check your email

i think there is a delay with the m17x right now as none have been released. again, i think it will be worth the wait for ya

can i ask you a question? which mobo are you using on your desktop. i like the dual quad core processor idea for a desktop PC. Havent built a desktop since 05 so i'm really out of the loop.

Sorry, one minor correction, I do not have dual processor, i was trying to say dual GPU. My CPU is the Core2Quad Extreme.

But, there is only one mobo I know of at the moment, that can take two CPUs, its Intel.

The one in Dual G5 Intel is built for them specifically, so they can write their own drivers etc.

This one is for purchase on Newegg etc.

I ordered my M17X on May 12th 2008. Today it FINALLY made it to PHASE 3 due to delays with the Chassis. I did, however call and get $346 off the total price of the machine since it had dropped on the site between the time I ordered and now... I can't wait!!!
