Downgrading from VISTA to XP on ML 6721

Hey guys, I've been trying to install XP on my ML6721 but I can't get it to work. I use the SATA driver so that the XP installer recognizes the hard drive and then I install, but just before the first boot (into windows) I get a blue screen and I never get into windows.

Any help???
Thanks in advance...

pls do make an effort to search the forum first. there are plenty of threads/posts discussing the issues with moving from vista to xp already, with many models similar to yours.

Here is the specifics.... after downgrade vista to xp on Gateway ML6721 over the weekend....

Windows XP drivers for Gateway laptop ML6721
Downgrade from Windows Vista to XP

Installation:
1. Download all necessary files below, especially SATA driver.
2. Create Installation Windows XP CD with SATA driver integrated to the your installation XP CD. How? Use free nLite software (http://www.nliteos.com/) to slipstreaming SATA drivers. You will only need to slipstream drivers under "F6 Floppy x86" driver on SATA directory.
3. Boot from CD and install XP. If you don't do step 2 then your HDD won't be recognized. Original Windows XP installation CD doesn't have the necessary driver to recognize your harddisk.
4. Install all drivers below.

For Gateway Part No. below, go to Gateway site and use search to download the drivers or use Google.
