So far my experience with Alienware has been horrible. My friends who don't know Alienware is a legit company, think I am being scammed, my research professor makes fun of me for spending $3000 on a laptop "with a six-pack" (with respect to the skullcap case) and not even receiving it, and when I call, it usually ends up with me somehow getting my order canceled and then starting the dreadful waiting process all over again.
I first posted about it and AW-armando responded and nothing really came of it (admittedly it was "only" 3 weeks into the process). I spoke to head of CS and he made promises that he didn't seem intent on keeping.
On order number 5, after a plethora of phone calls to AW and DFS, I wrote another post detailing my terrible experience. Then all of a sudden, I receive a post on the thread from AW-Armando. He makes the same promises that I've been told by everyone from AW.
Armando tells me he will do everything in his power to look into my issue after hearing I have been forced to re-order 5 times. And the crazy thing is......HE REALLY DID!
AW-Armando, thus far, has gone above and beyond what I would imagine are his normal daily routines for me. He not only looked into my order, but he conducted himself in a way one would expect everyone to conduct themselves at a company that sells the Lambourghini's of PC's......Professionally, courteously, and compassionately. He really convinced me, even after almost 2 months of getting the shaft from his company, that he actually cared about a customer who was being tossed around the system and was seemingly lost. AW-Armando got on the phone with the billing department to inquire as to why my orders kept on getting cancelled, got on the phone with the head of CS to ask about upgrading my shipping, and the really unbelievable thing that he did for me....He somehow put a priority expidite order on my computer! I am still stunned at the turn-around.
My experience with AW has suddenly become as pleasant as one would imagine it to be from the leader in souped-up performance pc's. I called today and spoke to someone else that was actually helpful. He applied the shipping that Armando was trying to get for me and told me that my computer would be shipping next week. When asked if I could change my shipping address he said because I used an ATA, he would have to CANCEL the order which he then commented that he was assuming I wouldn't want to do after looking at my file. He told me to call the day it ships and they will reroute it because it is the bank that makes them cancel the order for ATA holders who change the shipping address during the process for obvious reasons.
So hopefully you don't see the crying smiley next to a new thread of mine next week stating that a bomb went off inside of some plane flying over miami which was coincidentally approaching the sky over the AW facility causing it to plummet right on top of my laptop, destroying both the facility and, of course, my laptop.
I would, however, like to thank AW-Armando once again for helping me out and continuing to do so. Thanks a lot Armando!
