Finally, something positive to post!

So far my experience with Alienware has been horrible. My friends who don't know Alienware is a legit company, think I am being scammed, my research professor makes fun of me for spending $3000 on a laptop "with a six-pack" (with respect to the skullcap case) and not even receiving it, and when I call, it usually ends up with me somehow getting my order canceled and then starting the dreadful waiting process all over again.

I first posted about it and AW-armando responded and nothing really came of it (admittedly it was "only" 3 weeks into the process). I spoke to head of CS and he made promises that he didn't seem intent on keeping.

On order number 5, after a plethora of phone calls to AW and DFS, I wrote another post detailing my terrible experience. Then all of a sudden, I receive a post on the thread from AW-Armando. He makes the same promises that I've been told by everyone from AW.

Armando tells me he will do everything in his power to look into my issue after hearing I have been forced to re-order 5 times. And the crazy thing is......HE REALLY DID!

AW-Armando, thus far, has gone above and beyond what I would imagine are his normal daily routines for me. He not only looked into my order, but he conducted himself in a way one would expect everyone to conduct themselves at a company that sells the Lambourghini's of PC's......Professionally, courteously, and compassionately. He really convinced me, even after almost 2 months of getting the shaft from his company, that he actually cared about a customer who was being tossed around the system and was seemingly lost. AW-Armando got on the phone with the billing department to inquire as to why my orders kept on getting cancelled, got on the phone with the head of CS to ask about upgrading my shipping, and the really unbelievable thing that he did for me....He somehow put a priority expidite order on my computer! I am still stunned at the turn-around.

My experience with AW has suddenly become as pleasant as one would imagine it to be from the leader in souped-up performance pc's. I called today and spoke to someone else that was actually helpful. He applied the shipping that Armando was trying to get for me and told me that my computer would be shipping next week. When asked if I could change my shipping address he said because I used an ATA, he would have to CANCEL the order which he then commented that he was assuming I wouldn't want to do after looking at my file. He told me to call the day it ships and they will reroute it because it is the bank that makes them cancel the order for ATA holders who change the shipping address during the process for obvious reasons.

So hopefully you don't see the crying smiley next to a new thread of mine next week stating that a bomb went off inside of some plane flying over miami which was coincidentally approaching the sky over the AW facility causing it to plummet right on top of my laptop, destroying both the facility and, of course, my laptop.

I would, however, like to thank AW-Armando once again for helping me out and continuing to do so. Thanks a lot Armando!

I have found when you have a problems its better it seems to find a person you like at alienware and call them if you have any problems... it seems it moves alot faster...

You could of just updated your last thread with this... Instead of making another thread each time something happens...

Just a thought.

It's no wonder you go by the name "brilliant."

Not that I feel I have to explain myself to you -- but since this is a public forum I will do it for the sake of others who may have been thinking it but were polite enough not to mention it. AW-Armando really helped me out...I have 3 other negative threads about Alienware...If I took your suggestion less people would have seen the positive things I had to say about AW. I wanted there to be a positive thread to contrast the negative things I said. But thanks for your "thought".

Oh my god....are you serious?! That is great! Do you know how likely it is to go backward in the phases?? Do they fail the "grueling" tests AW puts the computers through often?? Also do you know if they build the computers on Sundays? Thanks for any help!!

I'm just happy it's finally moving. I'm also happy to finally feel like a valued customer. It's really hard to spend that much money and go through so much trouble. But like I've said in almost all of my posts in this thread....AW-Armando will really help you out if he says he's going to. So if anyone is experiencing anything similar to what I've gone through....he's the man to ask. Just make sure you explain what is going on. Armando, you, (rock!)!!! (I finally have a reason to use that smiley!) CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY M15X!!!

glad to hear it. well worth making a new thread to point out someone who took their job seriously and helped you. Too often we hear about these people who DONT do what they say they will, so I say fill the forum up with stories like this. kudos.

Thanks for your response! I couldn't agree more. I really didn't want to type the negative things I was saying about AW as I know this forum gets that a lot and people start to get annoyed. But if I hadn't, I might still be stuck in phase 1. I still think AW has some things they need to work on...but if they have more people like AW-Armando, then there is a bright ray of hope that things are on the verge of dramatically changing. Continue to make the same great computers that you always have....just with more consistency on the CS end. I am really glad that I can say that one person was able to drastically change the way I was perceiving this company. So if there are others like him, hopefully the stories you pointed out in your reply will soon be a thing of the past.

I just got the email telling me it was sent out and it specifically says reroutes are not allowed. However, the person I talked to on the phone the other day told me to call when its shipped and they will do a reroute. Do you think they just put that in the email to discourage people from asking?
i dont know if Fed-ex allows reroutes once it ships but i would call to find out...
