About Skipped Phone Sound in XPS M1530

I have got brand new DELL XPS M1530:
Intel T9300
4GB DDR2-SDRAM
200GB 7200 rpm harddrive
256MB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
Vista Ultimate.

Yesterday, I have a Skype phone with my friends. I use my webcam to transmit my video but my friend did not.
During the call, I browse the Internet using IE. I open a few site and read some articles from some site.
The Internet connection was so good and fast.

and also I use AC Adapter NOT battery.

My questions:
Why did the phone call a little bit skipped everytime I scroll the webpage using my mouse scroll or I open a new link / I did something with the page?
BUT I ONLY experience this when I have a phone call, when I play music using WinAmp, I did not have any skip.
Why can this happen? My laptop specs also high and good.

Does this has any relation with Vista? Because I read in some forums that Vista has some problems.

nope, lots of things skipped (paused) when browsing, chatting ... - independent from OS. It depends on many things (driver, line, system resources at the time etc ...)

Why can it be happen to my laptop? I think it has the capacity to handle all tasks and process well. 4GB RAM, 6MB L2 cache and 2.5 GHz clock speed CPU, 7200rpm hard drive. I think all the features are more than capable to handle this.

What cause the problem? I thought it might be from the Skype. Because I tried to open YouTube and listen to a music video while browsing, etc. but it is 100% OK! and I also tried to listen to music using WinAmp and it 100% OK either.

So the problem only Skype or Yahoo Messenger if I use them to have a phone call.

Please tell me what factors cause it?

what can i tell ya besides getting the latest version of yahoo messenger or skype? even that. Best thing is to shut down all other processes when on Skype or Yahoo Messenger, then add them back one at a time and see which one that would causes the skipping or pausing.

I have used the latest edition of those Skype and YM. Why this can be happen to my high specs? They should be more than enough to handle of these tasks, aren't they?

high specs mean nothing if the apps are not taking advantage of them. U have to mix and match software and hardware to get the best performances out of ur comp

I forgot to tell that before this skipped phone happen, the first time I bought the laptop I haven't bought a mouse so I used to use the DELL touchpad.

If I use a touchpad, I cannot scroll web pages as fast as external mouse and the phone was not skipped.

A few weeks ago, I bought a USB scroll mouse so now I use an external mouse and I can scroll any site pages quite fast and I found out that the phone sound was skipped.

Does this thing related with the skipped phone?

it was a perfect example of combine/mix that u posted. Now work on it a bit further to see if u can scroll fast on touchpad or slow down the external mouse

1. I have tried to slow down using the external mouse and it is OK! On touchpad, I cannot scroll too fast.

Is this related with the skipped phone?

2. Is it ok with my audio card / mainboard / processor if the phone skipped? What inside my mind is that the hardware / system having difficulties in handling processes.
So, are they just fine?

i doubt that lousy softwares would cause hardware failures. Annoying - yes.
