Well, I've always wanted a portable and I was really hoping AW would release something again soon but to no avail...

Maybe with the popularity of Ulta Portables coming back, AW will look into this arena again...

So I went hunting and found this little guy on ebay and It's in great shape too...

It's the 12 inch 3200
2 GHZ Centrino
1 GIG Ram
80 GIG HDD
Wireless
DVD-R
New Battery

Works like a charm and I'm very happy indeed!

Looks exactly like mine

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for it?

Hello! I paid $600.00 plus shipping, I know it seems steep but for a portable I think it's reasonable...

Congrats AlienRod. I wouldn't mind having a 12" AW lappy. How's the battery life?

I get 3 and a half hours at this stage which is fine for me considering it is an older model.

So Far, I'm liking it a lot! I've got Vista SP1 and Ubuntu Ultimate running and she handles both well. I almost went back to XP but I must admit that the fans have calmed down after installing SP1 and NHC. I keep her running at 1GHZ as I only use her for internet and notes and now the fans only come on under intense tasks...........Nice little machine!

I'm going to sell my m5550i when the Skullcap m17x comes out and keep the Sentia as my travel buddy

Wow! You got Vista to run on it, without too many problems? I tried in vain to get my m5500 (same processor as your Sentia) to run it, but it would overheat and shut down. I tried all kinds of tings to alleviate that and finally switched back to XP. My system is running very well now...

Yup, I tweaked Vista quite a bit, no aero of course and lowered the voltage on the processor with NHC, running it @ 1ghz, which is fine with me.

The processor runs between 50 and 55 degrees celcius on idle and between 60 and 70 degrees celcius under heavy tasks, which is not very often.

Interesting. Thanks for letting me know as I will file this away for future use.
