Hey guys
I've been getting these strange performance stutters recently. Back in Vista I noticed them mostly during gaming, and it was very strange because it started happening in games that dont stress my computer very much before(Need for Speed, CS, Civ4, etc) and then it continued to get worse. It would play smoothly for about a few minutes then slow down excruciably to the point the audio completely stutters out to nothing and then recover by itself after a while. After a while it started happening during regular work like checking email, chatting online, etc. It got pretty bad so I formated and did a clean install but with XP. My system showed pretty good improvement, bootup is fast, IE opens quickly (oddly firefox doesnt anymore), etc. Then I installed some games to test it, only to find its sorta still there. Its not as bad as it used to be but it still happens which is really annoying. Any suggestions on what the problem is and what to do?
Windows XP SP3
Intel Core2Duo 2.0 Ghz
Nvidia Geforce Go 7400 LaptopVideo2Go Driver 169.09
2 GB RAM
5400 RPM 80 gb harddrive
uh not sure what else i need to add here.
Thanks in advance guys!
