Windows Photo Gallery Video Clips Jerky

I am running a dual core 1.73 GHz Dell 1525 with Intel X3100 graphics with 3 GB memory. I simply want to go through Windows Photo Gallery and show both pictures and video clips without the video clips jittering. Is there a way to improve video clip playback so this does not pause and then catch up making the video jerky and skipping sections? I need this simply for clients to view their photos and video clips to see if they want to buy a CD of their tour.

using any codecs at the moment?

I know what codecs are but what do you mean. Simply shots and video clips from a Canon camera.

. straight forward files copying from canon to window?
. try using VLC and see if the clips smoothing out
