hi,
i guess i did something i shouldn't have done when i cleaned the fans of our laptop. i took the keyboard and the plate underneath out to have access to the fans and cleaned them with a vacuum cleaner. in order to get all the dust out i unscrewed and took out the plate that has the two fans and the cpu on it. after i put it all together again it won't boot up any more. the lights come on, the fans start spinning, the dvd drive makes some noises but nothing else happens. the screen stays dark and there are no sounds. i took the 2 memory plates out, swapped them out, tried it with one or none - same problem. a computer guy i talked to thinks that i fried the motherboard with some static voltage from the vacuum cleaner.
is there anything else i could do and try or do i have to get a new motherboard?
thanks
