Save some $$ on your new AW pc (loophole)

After I ordered my m15x I decided to upgrade the processor to the 2.5Ghz(extra $250). I contacted AW and they changed my order, and charged my card $250. Anyone see the loophole? No tax.

So, in theory, you can order the base config @ $1499, add the UXGA screen, 8800 GTX, x9000 CPU, & 4GB of ram (total $1850) and save around $100 @ 5% sales tax.

Add discount code GSFREESHIP for an additional $50 and you just saved $150.

Now, by law, when you are not charged tax with an online purchase you are supposed to file and pay the tax to your local state. I’m sure “everyone” does that already. So this only helps out if you need that tax break for a short term, and file it with your taxes in april.

That would really help me, I live outside buffalo where sales tax is a whopping 9%. Don't get me started.

You never are charged unless the state you are in has an agreement with the company to collect it up front. Not all do. If you happen to live in one of the states that does not have this agreement you are lucky. And yes it is an "Honor" system where you admit to your state that you owe them a sales tax on a purchase made out of state. So for 250 we are looking at about maybe $20 or less. I dont think they will hunt you down for that its not worth the effort.

And if it is part of major order it probably does not change the ammount you owe already.
