This is off topic for off topic, and I will eventually post this in the for sale/wanted section, but basically I need a PC laptop with rock-solid reliability. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just need to be able to run exam software for my bar exam. Something running any version of XP sp2 would probably do.

So if any of you guys have a good, reliable laptop you want to get rid of for cheap (I prefer less than $400), I'm interested.

I figured I'd try here first because I know most of the OT community.

I ain't sellin' my lappy, no way.

But: look at the business-class HPs if you can. They go through a solid QA cycle, and, with fewer features than their consumer-grade counterparts, there are fewer things to go wrong.

For more money, the IBM (Lenovo) business laptops are tanks.

The Dell business laptops are pretty nice too.

Specs are Dell D610 1.6ghz intel M/ 40gb hard drive / 1gb ddr2 ram / wifi / combo drive (cdrw/dvd)

XPP loaded and office pro 03 loaded. All updates are in except sp3

400 Shipped/insurance/tracking

I think you get an Eee PC with XP for around the price you're looking to spend.

I've got a machine for you.
Dell 600m, I think. If it is important I will double check.

1.6GHz Dothan.
WinXP Pro COA.
40GB HDD
512MB DDR.
Internal 802.11b/g Wifi.
SXGA+ screen 1400x1050
DVD/CDRW drive.
Battery holds a good charge and can run for 3-5 hours.
It has a pointer and a touch pad.
