Video card for 9300

I have a dell inspiron 9300 that i bought in late 05. It was good while the video card lasted.

However late last year, the video card suddenly fried and failed.

I never really bothered to fix it but now due to various reasons, I would like to get it fixed.

I searched dell website and found several refurbished video cards:

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/c...chassisid=8434

I am obviously not getting the last one since I can get a better new laptop for similar price.

However, what's the difference between the other 3 and would they actually work ( I am concerned because there's no information about them).

On the other hand, do you know if there are possiblely elsewhere where I can find a better deal (either to get the parts or to get it fixed)?

Thank you for any help.

Those prices from dell are ridiculous! You should be able to get a MUCH better deal on ebay. You may also want to post a message in the for sale forums here.

There is also an option for putting a 7800 or 6800 ultra into your machine. It is not supported by dell though.
check these forums stickys for instructions.

The 64mb card I believe is the ATi x300 card, which is by no means a powerhouse GPU..but it will technically work.

To be honest, locating a new card at this point will be VERY difficult because all of the GPUs for the 9300 are no longer manufactured and most of the surplus/replacement parts are no longer around because they've all been replaced into other computers.

You can try to go for the 64mb with Dell though. Good luck!

OK, I know those prices are absolutely ridiculous...

And even more importantly, there's no description... I wonder what's the difference between the first and the 3rd item... I seems that they should be the same thing but I don't know why the prices are soo different.

There's a guy on ebay selling 7800 gtx's for around $300. I just put one in my 9300.

I think I might still have my ATi x300 card from when I upgraded. PM me.

you can look up the cards on ebay by part number:
6800 go: w5373
6800 ultra go: c5846
7800 gtx go: hf594 (best one by far, look at my sig!)

it plays COD4 and TF2 perfectly at relatively high settings (no shadows though), the spore creature creator purrs along nicely. totally worth the $300 IMHO.
