A8SC supports how many RAM slots?

I know A8SC supports up to 4GB RAM but how many slots are avaliable?

I have a pair of 1GB Kingston RAM module that i plan to save it to install on my next laptop A8SC that comes with 1GB x2 OEM RAM. But i need to know if there's any more free RAM slots i can install my Kingston RAM modules on.

there are 2 memory slots. Also, keep in mind that if you want to put 2GB modules in each slot to bring the total to 4GB, you'll need to be running a 64-bit operating system in order to utilize all of it. Otherwise, you'll be capped at 3.25GB, as I recall.

Ok thx, 3.25GB doesn't sound too bad. But laptop comes with 2 OEM sticks installed so i guess i won't be saving my Kingston sticks then.

I hope ASUS OEM RAM is better.

There most likely won't be any difference between them, as most all brands of notebook RAM are equal except in very unusual cases.

Ok and a quick question, how long has this A8 series been introduced into the market?

hmmm... I think it started with the A8Jm, which was introduced with Intel's mobile 945 chipset in mid 2006. It looks like it's being phased out and replaced by the F8 series.

Yeha true for the 945 intel chipset release date. Actually went to check all the Asus specs and found out the 8400M GPU was first released on March 2007. And PM965 chipset proberly is Santa Rosa chipset. If i didn't remembered it wrong it was released on May, June or July 2007. Manufactured date could be around 1 or 2 months later.. mean the laptop should be stored in stock pile for less then a year.

Not bad, no doubt i'm getting it.
