how would the asus lamborghini vx3 compare to the new voodoo envy 133?

if price was not a concern, which laptop would be better?
i'm thinking the new voodoo would be better because it's using a solid state drive instead of a regular hard drive. also the vx3 may be just pricey because of the lamborghini badge.

share your thoughts. Thanks

The VX3 smokes the new Voodoo in performance and connections- much more powerful processor, dedicated video card, built-in optical drive, double the memory, 3 more USB slots, much larger hard dive, etc.

The Voodoo, however, is superior in battery life and is thinner and just slightly lighter ..and it costs quite a bit less

i thought SSD would perform better then a regular harddrive. Shouldn't this outperform the vx3? also the vx3 cpu and the envy cpu is 2 different techonology correct?

you're correct that SSD drives have faster access times than standard drives, but the hard drive is only one component of the system. And the Envy CPU is the same one used by the Macbook Air- a 65nm smaller sized CPU. Although it's not part of Intel's standard lineup, I'd say it's still based on the same kind of technology.

i guess now it's the matter of price. i think that the asus lamborghini is a bit overpriced because of the emblem that they put on the cover. although it does have a better graphic card and bigger hard drive, many reviews say that it doesn't perform better or faster then the macbook air with 1.8ghz and 64ssd

I won't argue with you on that

hey, i actually want your opinion. please

Sorry for not being clear. By saying "I won't argue with that", I meant I agree with you- the VX3 is overpriced. It's got some good components and is a well-built high quality system, but a thousand dollars more expensive than its competition is way too much.

that's exactly what i thought. i don't understand why it's so pricey.
but i do like the fact that it has bluetooth, draft n wireless router, mouse, case, optical drive, etc

Is about the same thing like Sony VIAO laptops. The branding. Is like you're buying a Lambo Murcielago LP240 and i'm buying a Honda Civic 1999.. lol

For me i like alienwares to be my top-end laptop. Cost 5 grands for performance and quality. Alienware = Bugetti Veyron.

Performance? Yes. Quality? Not so much. I have yet to hear of any notebook computer, regardless of brand, with a high-end GPU that has above average build quality and/or reliability. Incidentally, that's not a rip on Alienware- they just order systems according to demand; they don't design them. It's more a rip on the ODMs that design and fabricate them.

I would prefer the envy if (and that's a huge IF) it had the gigabit network port on the chassis. I know many people use these ultraportables only with wireless, but is the space (inside the nb) used by gigabit ethernet a huge deal that needed to go?

Btw, I couldn't care less about 10/100 with wireless.
