Any Benchmarks yet?

Too rich for my blood now although relatively speaking, its a good price. I have a caddy for a second HD so time to put it to use. You decided to get the M6300 yet?

I also would like to know how this bad boy performs... though I doubt I would upgrade from my 250gb samsung to this.

Here are some transfer diagrams for WD's 320 GB 7200 RPM that's available at $180, maybe lower.

It will be cheaper if you give another 2 months when 500GB hit the market

I'll go which ever one is cheaper if the performance is comparable. Its nice to have 300gb of formatted space.

Thanks for the links!

I've never used XBench, as it's for Macs, but it appears that all the numbers are higher for the WD drive. I'm not sure what the first column of numbers is in the 7k320 benchmark. Also, Tom's hardware has a review out for the 500 gig drives.

Those through output numbers are quite sexy if only they had 320GB 7200RPM numbers in there.

Care to elaborate?

Looks like the Western Digital Scorpio Black gives better performance numbers. But, the manufacturers specs show the Hitachi Travelstar consumes less power.

So, you may want to choose based on your preference for performance versus power consumption.
