How happy are you with your ASUS?

I am looking at replacing my old i9300 laptop with the ASUS M50Sa-1 or a Dell 15 inch Studio laptop. The Dell cost more but I get inhome service for any repair work. I really like the ASUS but I am worried about any repairs. What has been your exp with ASUS support and repair needs? Good quick phone service? Fast turn around on laptops that you have to ship to them? Overall how well do they hold up?

Asus A8JP
Asus G-1
Asus W3J
Asus EEEpc 900
Asus EEEpc 701 (for 2 weeks)

I have owned, and loved each of them. Very sturdy in their construction.
Not cheap feeling at all.

I have yet to use their warranty or customer support as nothing has happened to them. Both my 700m and 6000d Dell's have needed warranty work.

The M50 is prolly the best costreformance laptop out there now.

I am even interested in getting one!

I just got a M51S from Newegg. Awesome system. Although I am currently trying to figure out where I can get XP drivers from since it comes with the virus knows as VISTA.

Sticky did they send you the OS disc or just a restore image on the harddrive or ASUS own Image build of the OS?

All Asus ensemble systems ship with recovery discs, containing the OS and drivers, etc. As I recall from what GenTechPC said, you can choose to install the drivers manually after installing the OS if you want.

Darq, my friend who owns a comp store just ordered 2 M50's for a few of his regulars, he said the second one coming in will have vista loaded on it, with vista dvd recovery, ALONG with windows xp pro recovery dvd

That has me wanting one so bad
