After serval BSOD refering to my page file, I decided to bite the bullet and put it through my hard drive's head, Afer doing a clean install of Windows XP, I can't get the following devices to work properly
  • PCI Simple Communications Controller
  • Ethernet Controller
  • USB Device
I'm not so worried about the last two but the first needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I don't have a clue abuot what type of wireless it is. After taking it out and looking at it, all I can discern is that it's an Atheros chip. Why can't I reinstall this?

After some searching, I thnik this is the card I have: "Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g." But when I try to add these drivers to the PCI card, it fails. It doesn't know what the PCI card is doing inside the computer. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this one?

I believe the problem is that the PCI card does not have ANY wireless drivers provided by Windwos to choose from. When I specify an area of my hard disk to searh, it finds nothing. When I Select the "Don't Search. I will Choose the driver to install." option, it forces me to choose a network type. After selecting "Network Adapters," all I am shown are ethernet adapters. Can anyone tell me how to change this?

After attempting to install a variety of possible drivers and reseating my PCI wireless card, my laptop now recognigzes it as a network adapter, but is still completly unsure of what type it is. All of the Atheros drivers tested have not been effective, but at least the PCI card is not located under "Network Adapters" as opposed to "Other." Help still appreciated.
