OCZ is introducing a new line of Core SSD drives - cheaper and faster than the recently introduced Super Talent MasterDrive MX series.

The OCZ Core drives feature a 2 year warranty and read speeds of 120 to 143 MB/sec and write speeds of 80 to 93 MB/sec.

Looks like they have a 17" version coming out soon with better GPUs.

Which CPU and drive did they send you with the kit?

They only send the kit. I provide the other parts. And that's awesome there coming out with the 17 inch and better GPU! i was just writing writing how this idea is almost complete!

I know the current DIY kit/Barebone OCZ offers has an MXM GPU module (after all, it's a rebadged Compal IFL90). The only problem is that you'll have to remove the entire palmrest to access it. Would this new 17 inch model have a MXM module (would be kickass if they had two for SLi) and would it be more accessible?

SSD question: sorry if it's been asked thousands of times, but how much power savings does one get from say a 128gb ssd vs say a 7k320, which is what I would typically choose?

Since my current HDD is only 100 I could probably live quite happily with a 128 SSD if the price was justified by the speed and extra battery life.

Are you looking for a wattage number?

Sure. And then if someone could translate that difference into additional battery life time for any given number... of cells, batteries, minutes, etc.

Wow, either OCZ have been reading my thoughts or spied on these forums...

and with ATi finally showing some competence, it has mobility crossfire

I'm going to post this somewhere. This is big for notebook gamers like myself

And it's basically a M9750 a.k.a Arima W830i-DA (or I guess an Arima W840i) and I love their designs.
