Macbook Deal to Good to be True?? Should I buy it?

I found a Macbook on craigslist in my area for $380. It is a year old, still under warranty, looks to be in good condition, and here are the specs:


black, 2.16GHz processor speed, Intel Core 2 Duo, 120 Gb hdd, 2 gb SDRAM, Intel GMA 950

I am going into my senior year of high school, and am planning on buying a macbook right before going to college in a year.

I've been advised to wait on buying a laptop because of how quickly technology changes...but how can I pass this up??

So if this macbook is in good shape, should I buy it, or wait for a year until the start of college?

If your specs are accurate, jump on it. But for that price, I would take a VERY close look at it before I pay for it. Check for anything and everything, that is an incredible price for the black macbooks. The old saying, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Assuming everything looks good on the surface, and perhaps even once the system is booted up, the biggest issue I'd investigate is the warranty. If he/she has a receipt and can verify the standard warranty or the Applecare then it would be a steal, and, you'd have the backup of the warranty to address any more serious functional issues.

you shouldn't wait to buy a laptop unless you know for sure an event is coming or refreshments are on the way. Technology is always advancing and the minute you buy a laptop it is already outdated.

As for the Macbook, hopefully it's a good buy and not a scam.
