I9300 [GeForce 6800 Go] - Looking for a driver update

Long time lurker, and now a new member.

Anyways, I have a I9300 (GeForce 6800 Go) that my bro gave to me after making his new desktop. When he first got this, it was a monster. Nowadays, it's not, lol.

On to the point: I've always used the drivers from Dell just because they're the "official" ones. However I've read that their GPU drivers aren't the fastest. Now that I'm playing games such as TF2 instead of the older games (e.g. CS:S, WC3, WoW), I'm kinda wanting a performance boost.

Now, I'm not saying that TF2 isn't playable -- the FPS is good enough, but maybe it could be better (esp. during the bigger battles)? I'm just curious if I'll get a performance boost from switching drivers (Dell to whatever).

I found out that this driver, NBF MobileForce XP 174.31, is compatible w/ my GPU. It's also one of the recommended ones.

Anyways, I'm just looking for feedback.

Thanks.

I'm about to reformat in a little while, so it'll be nice if I could get some feedback on the desired driver

Still looking for feedback on the desired driver since, you know, it was created by people who reside here. Not to mention it has "NBF" as part of its name. I'm guessing that's an acronym for, I don't know, NOTEBOOK FORUMS?

Seriously, these forums are either SLOW or 90% of you are the typical "If they say it's good, I'll download it, regardless if the information given is valid or not!" people. Hopefully it's the former for your sakes.

To be honest, I did not know that such a section existed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Still, I'm quite frustrated that after 80+ views, I did not get a single response.

I usewd to have a i9300 with 6800 go.
I used whatever recent drivers were found on laptopvideo2go.com
Had to download the driver and the .ini file made for the i9300.
Have you oc'd your gpu? IIRC, default is 290/590
I oc'd mine to 370/770 and was able to play most games at decent resolution/detail.
