Still far behind both Windows XP and Mac's OS, Vista made solid gains over the past year.

| Hate it or love it, Microsoft's Windows Vista is finding its way into increasingly more PCs with its market share going up by an impressive 297% in the last 12 months. Based on the data provided by Net Applications, the increase in OS market share topped 16.14% in June while just one year ago it only secured 5.43% of PCs for itself. Mac OS has also done pretty good in the last year, as it went up 32% to reach 7.94% in June. As for the immortal OS, Windows XP, it went down almost 1% but it still has a dominant position due to its 71.20% share. Going back to Vista, if the current trend continues, it should surpass the 30% mark before Spring 2009 ends. That won't mean much if Windows 7 ships in early 2010 though. Sorry Vista, we're with 7.
