I really wish Dell had kept precision laptops on their D-bay compatible line; those had the ability to add a hard drive, extra battery, zip drive, floppy drive, and probably some other stuff. A few laptops had a special port where you could plug in an extra d-bay to use two devices at once. The external optical drive adapter I knew about, but didn't know you could convert an optical drive bay to a hard drive.
