WTB: Go 7900GS 256mb for M9700

I need a Go 7900GS 256mb card to upgrade my 9700 to SLI, so I guess I would need the SLI bridge also. AW says they only have the ones for customer replacement under warranty, none to sell as upgrades. Don't seem to find any on ebay or the laptop parts sites.

Any ideas or help here?

Only thing I can think of is eBay...

I wonder if Alienware won't be willing to sell their stock once all the warranties have expired? Max warranty is three years, when did they stop selling the m9700?

I wish there was a way for AW to hold onto stock longer, especially with a situation like the m9700. SLI is an obvious upgrade, so it's really a shame the 7900gs cards aren't still readily available.

Well Mine is only a year old, just out of 1 year warranty, so at least two more years, by then it would be obsolete anyhow. Seems to me AW is loosing a fair amount olf green by not having good stock on what seems like an obvious upgrade. and no, unless a Dell board fits, there is nothing on Ebay, plus I'm still waiting to hear if I can at least get the SLI cable.

The next option is to buy a 9700 on ebay with SLI, swap what parts I want, then resell it as a single GPU system.

The Dell 7900gs won't work in the m9700 unfortunately.

Im looking to sell one of my 7900 cards its 256. ill give you the bridge too..interested?

Hmm I phoned AW today about upgrading my m9700 to SLI and they said they would sell me the card plus the SLI cable for 268 euros (£211).

Are you still under Warranty? I'm not and they would not sell it to me.
