Couldn't find the template on this website, so I just stole it from another post, hope this is ok.
1) What is your budget?
$1500-$2000CAD
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
15" preferred, may consider a 17"
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
Image editing, gaming and surfing the internet, word processing etc.
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
Will carry it around, although I don't think weight is such a huge issue (I'm used to carrying a heavy bag around with me anyway)
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
I would like to be able to play new releases for the next while, Spore, GTA4 (if/when it comes out) etc.
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I've been trying to figure out which are best, you tell me.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
Minimum of 3, but the more the better.
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
No, I can buy online.
9) What country are you buying this in?
Canada
10) Would you prefer standard or widescreen?
Widescreen
11) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
Min of 1440x900, the bigger the better (Image editing is really the primary purpose of this machine)
12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
Matte
Build Quality and Design
13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
A bit
14) How long do you want this laptop to last?
Indefinitely, build quality is very important to me
Notebook Components
15) How much hard drive space do you want;
160GB
16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD-ROM, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-RW drive?
DVD-RW
Basically this laptop is going to be for image editing (Looking at going into a photography program in University) and to replace my desktop for games. As a result, a high quality screen is very important to me, I saw Alienware has a spacial treatment on some of their screens that is supposed to reduce glare and washing out by the sun that piqued my interest.
