[minor rant] could you turn off auto-CAPITALIZATION?

What the thread title said.

Sometimes, for emphasis, I like to put some key words into all-caps; this "feature" stops me. I understand it's only for the first word in a "sentence."

Annoying.

REALLY i never noticed

I Dont Believe There Is A Way To Turn It Off, Iirc

And Besides, It Only Kicks In When All The Letters In The Post Are In Capitals, Like I'm Doing Now

I guess you're right. The only time I've noticed the issue is when I wanted to emphasize a point and went with a single-word post.

Ex:

YES!

The post above was in all-caps. At least it was before it was mangled.

this is correct. you cannot type a post in all Caps...

Well...could you turn it off? Or allow it to be turned off? Say, with a user cp option...

maybe... have to look into it

i don't believe there is a way to disable it, i think it's just an automatic function of the post parsing function

if you need to type in all caps just put in a single lower case letter into your post (through a smilie or otherwise) and it wont trigger

Interesting idea there Conda: the smiley...

How about an "invisible" smiley, really to be used as filler/defeater of the hated CAPS POLICE function.

Okay, I found another, much more common, case where this auto-decapitalization thingy becomes a pain: when you want to simply post the "big grin" smiley by itself.

Behold in the next post:

I had simply clicked on the grinning icon and the above was what I got.

so you want me to make it so you have to post at least 10 characters for each post?

Only if you want to type more...

Quiet you. Oh, and if the 10cpp is implemented, I'm auto-pasting Conda's "oh snap" into every post I make, just to pad things out.
