I Have A HP Pavilion dv9730nr Entertainment Notebook PC I Bought 5 Months Ago From Bestbuy. It’s A Nice Laptop With Decent Speed…
I Wanted To Know If I Upgrade My Memory To 4G From 2G Will This Make My Computer Run Any Faster And Download Faster..

And Also Can I Upgrade A Laptop Processor?

I’m Being Told By Bestbuy Geek Squad That There Is No Way This Can Be Done But I’m Also Being Told By Others It Can…Me Personally I Will Never Trust What Geek Squad Say There Always Giving Me The Wrong Information About Any Question I Have..

My Processor Right Now Is
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Processor T5450
• 1.67 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB

Altogether What Makes A Laptop Run Fast ...

Thank You

No adding 2 gb more ram isn't going to make any dif. unless you're crazy (dumb) enough to run Photoshop, Crysis, Firefox with 20 tabs all at the same time. The common misconception is that simply adding more ram magically makes a system go faster. The rampantness of this idea is visable in ppl's forum signatures for desktops where they have 4 or sometimes 8 gb of ram- useless for the vast majority of people. I have a laptop with 2gb and never need it all. I built a desktop with 8800 gt SLI and e8400 @ 3.8 ghz and IT only needs 2 gb of ram.

Yeah you can upgrade a laptop processor but it's more work than it's worth. Another misconception is that adding a faster processor will make games go faster. No- the need for more powerful gfx surpassed the need for multiple cores a long time ago (which is why I built my gaming rig with only a dual core).
The obvious exception is for people that like to do video converting (assuming the app even supports multiple cores which most don't).

Then you mention downloading faster. OMG dude you need to learn how a computer works. It's called your internet connection that controls how fast you download....omg....a supercomputer on dial-up is only going to get dial-up speeds.

Basically your only option is overclocking which judging by your post I don't think you're experienced enough to do alone.

When I Say Download I Dont Mean The Internet, I Mean Downloading Software.

Thanks For The Reply But Next Time If You Reply Try Not To Come Off As Being Real Disrespectful..

Downloading software uses the same internet connection browsing webpages does....I'm not sure where your confusion is coming from on this question.

I think we might have a misunderstanding of what "download" means. Downloading is typically used to mean transferring data to your computer over a network (like the internet) or from another computer to yours. Are you referring to installing software from a disk? if so about the only thing that will speed that up appreciably is a faster hard drive (ie 7200rpm vs 4200 or 5400) and even then, for most things it's not going to make THAT much difference.
