ummm... A) thats from NBR, just from reading some of the post there i recommend you are VERY careful unless they are proving what they have to say with "facts"
for example, here you're talking about 27 votes total... 27 total m15x out of 1000's that have been shipped. in the last 5000 m15x shipped, if all 27 of these were faulty that would be 0.5% which is WAY below the expected hardware failure rate on notebooks (its up to 2%).
So, this is not big picture thinking, and do you know what age group is known for this? are you taking PC advice from 13 y/o's?
Most of the overheating / downclocking issues i have read about were from true PC noobs, who really dont need an AW to begin with. something simple like a dell fits their profile, but they were "drawn to the lights" of the m15/17x. I've beaten the crap out of my m15x, trying my best to break it (i do this with all new notebooks, i want it to break right away, not 1.5 years later when the warrenty is up) Overclocking, overnight stress test up the ying yang and i've had 0 issues with overheating and i've found solutions for all the downclocking issues outside of GPU downclocking on battery (read around, i've posted them all here)
also, when everything goes well with a purchase, most people do not visit a new forums and praise about it. but it is VERY common, especially at NBR, to find members with 1 post and bitching about their bad experience. its common human nature to want to vent when something goes wrong... that’s why it looks like the forums are full of bashers, only bashers take the time to register an account because they need to vent…
