T-1616 Bios upgrade for 4g mem problem

Hello everyone. I have been searching the web for weeks looking for a bios for my T-1616. Gateway does not even list one. I would like to upgrade to fix the memory problem.

She will take 2gig stick in slot one and boot but it will not boot when I put both 2 gig sticks in both slots. I have tried Crucial and Kingston with the same problem - It shows in the bios and in the summary screen - but it will not boot.

I now am using one 2 gig in slot 1 and the original 512 samsung stick in slot 2.

PS I have played with the video reserved memory in the bios as well as others have reported.

There might be a cap on the memory recognized by the BIOS. Did you run it with a 2 gb and 512mb at the same time? How much did it recognize?
