WOW - GREAT DEAL. I paid $2400 in April for almost the same machine and that was with a ton of discounts. Only major difference is I got the wuxga anti glare lcd.

Enjoy it! The 175.75 drivers work best for me. They are right there on the Dell web site.

Major grats!

Awesome. Looking at your sig bar, you might want to know it plays COD4 at 1920x1200 with everything maxed VERY well.

good laptop. today i did a benchmark with mine (almost same one) for cod4.
different multiplayer ffa maps, around 40 players.
1440x900, full aa&af, everything max, soft smoke edges & vertical sync off.

results:

2008-07-14 21:45:02 - iw3mp
Frames: 4321 - Time: 69590ms - Avg: 62.092 - Min: 28 - Max: 92

2008-07-14 21:49:24 - iw3mp
Frames: 16617 - Time: 299287ms - Avg: 55.521 - Min: 30 - Max: 93

2008-07-14 22:14:47 - iw3mp
Frames: 11098 - Time: 144218ms - Avg: 76.952 - Min: 39 - Max: 93

the fps drops happen when lots of people throw a smoke grenade at you
simultaneously. when looking through iron sights fps also drop (i.e. from
70 to 40).

however, i guess when playing at 1920x1200 you might need to turn aa down
for smoother multiplayer experience.

welcome back muahaha.

Edit: Hmm, I wonder what performance boost is going to come from the 3700M. I just can't resist the classic XPS2 look.

We'll find out. If you're lucky maybe nvidia is up to its crazy naming schemes again and its worse than the 3600m. That's a big maybe though.
