BIOS 1.16 is here !

Ok, after reading the release notes on this BIOS I have decided that I want to upgrade as it is supposed to fixe a couple of issues I have.

I know I should call AW tech support while I do this, but do they mind us updating the BIOS?

Oh, and here's the file: BIOS 1.16 (release notes)

Well I've updated, no problems at all. Have lost the AW logo on bootup - now it's an intel centrino one

Had to check which version - and for me I had 1003 on the minipci slot (what about you guys?)

Yeah you lost the Alienware logo because the BIOS wasn't made by Alienware. I called to update my BIOS today to 1.16 and the tech support person said not to install it because it hasn't been approved and modified by alienware yet. All you've done is installed the case/motherboard designers BIOS and most likely voided your waranty.

Oh well, will upgrade it to AW 1.16 when it's released - but considering i was running 1.07 before at least i now have a 100% working laptop instead of a buggy one.

What is the latest AW BIOS release then?

Being in the UK I can't get ANY Sentia BIOS's

The latest Sentia bios is 1.15, that's what I'm using.

I wish the UK download site would have any of the Sentia BIOS' Isn't there an alienware ftp server with the download s on?

Sorry, didn't realise that AW BIOS's were different. Anyway, got the 1.15 from US AW and installed that. Ok all.
