Advice on upgrading the graphics card..

Hi Guys..
I don knw much on laptops.. i am getting an acer travelmate 5720 which is coming with inbuilt graphics card..x3100 graphics accelerator..i was wonderin hw this graphics card is.. and one more question is whether i can upgrade the graphics card from the inbuilt to any better cards...

No you cant pgrade graphics caards on Laptops. If you are a extreme gamer look for a proper gaming laptop otherwise it will suck

Actually, if you go to YouTube, and search for x3100 games or x3100 gaming, or 1525 games, you'll find people playing crysis, call of duty 4, and various other games, using the dell 1525 and a x3100 graphics card. It has dx10.1, and shader model 4 with the latest drivers, and can use over 300MB onboard RAM, while other seperate graphic cards tend to use 256MB (so the more RAM you have in your laptop, the better) The 3dmark tests when it first came out only gave it scores like 400 but with the new drivers some people have got it up to 2000 depending on your CPU and RAM. While you won't be able to play new games on highest settings and resolution, you can still play a number of recent games at lower settings, and older (3 to 4 or more years old) games run pretty good on the x3100. For an older game example, someone was saying they got 60fps or more running Quake 3 Team Arena on a Dell 1525 with x3100, with all game settings on, and at their laptop's max resolution. Not sure which CPU they had in their laptop though, but it was one of the Intel Core 2 Duo ones.
