Thinkpad / Ideapad questions

Its time for a new laptop and I'm looking at IBM/Lenovo this time. My previous laptop was a Sager NP57-60, I pre-ordered it and got it the day it came out. It was a beast at the time, but it was too big and produced too much heat. I recently sold it and built a high end desktop to replace it for gaming and audio recording.

Anyways, for a laptop I'm looking for something a little lighter and easier to carry around than my huge 17" sager was. I'm still going to probably put a few games on it, but nothing newer than Warcraft III.
I also am looking to use the laptop as a portable recording studio, which the only important detail on that is memory and processing power- all the audio hardware is separate.

I can't decide between the Ideapad Y510 or the ThinkPad T61. I'm looking for a 2GHz duo core with 2GB + of memory. Those are the most important aspects. A dual layer DVD burner, large HDD, dedicated GPU, and webcam/fingerprint scanner would all be nice but not necessary.

My last question was on where to purchase them? I'm interested in a warranty, and have put together a couple variations on Lenovo's website, but is there a "best" place to purchase one? I've seen a few on Newegg also.

I think I'm leaning towards the IdeaPad Y510 only because of the dedicated GPU and the webcam. Is there much of a difference other than the "media" aspect the Ideapad offers?

not that i m aware of. But the Y510 is always being taunted as the alter-ego of the T61, and it is a good machine overall.

cheers ...
