Hello. Is there any program I can use to format an Apple/Mac Powerbook g4 Titanium hard drive? Thanks!

I have never worked on an Apple before in any way

If you have the install disk, pop it in the machine, boot while holding the C key, then use the Disk Utility.

I have 2 discs that say software restore. On the first disc, it says Mac OS 10.xxx.

I found the utility in the cd that allows me to format the hard drive which I did. I still can not figure out how to restore the software onto the hard drive now.

Any help would be great

Hmm those two discs, one fo them(The first one I believe) should be the OS and software, and booting off of it should give you the chance to install the OS and iLife, etc. I haven't used the 'C' shortcut myself to boot from CD but I believe it should work for this, you can also press and hold ALT to choose a place to boot from as well.

Sorry I can't give you uch more useful advice there, maybe if that doesn't work you can describe what you see when you DO boot from those discs?

when I boot to the first disk, I was able to format the drive. I was not able to get the OS loaded after that.

I have not had a chance to try it again but I will tomorrow.

Give it another shot, I *thought* that the first disk had both the disk utility and install functions on it, but I could be wrong. Kakaze do you remember? Its been a while since I have reinstalled the Mac OS on a machine.

Just received some confirmation on what I suspected also. You should have had to do something other than just click through on that first disk to reformat your HD(If memory serves there is a small button at the bottom of the installation window you would have had to click). If you literally just click through it should install your HD.

If in booting off the CD you just clicked through and it reformatted your HD though, I am wondering if you have the correct discs I am thinking of. But let me know what happens when you take another look at it.
