Dell to release Centrino 2 laptops next week?

According to an email I got, Dell is expected to delete everything in the "save item' box on July 21. This could only mean one thing that they will introduce Centrino 2 and discontinue current models.


I'm expecting XPS models M1340 and M1540 to come out in 1-2 weeks just in time for back to school. Price range $999 for Centrino and $1399 for Centrino 2 and by November Centrino will fade out leaving only Centrino 2.

Rumor? maybe, but it's somehing that will happen sooner rather than later.

ah but will the new XPS laptops be available at the same time in UK/EU - now that's the question...

Plus I don't want to compromise on my extras such as 320GB 7200 RPM HDD, White LED screen etc...

If they're not available by the last week of August when I need to buy, I might as well look at HP, Acer, Toshiba as they all have them available right now!
