freeze/hang?

ok lets start my story.

when i first bought my laptop (more than 1 year ago) it had this problem where by it would not, sometimes, turn on. you would press the on button and nothing. you had to physicaly take the battery out and put it back in again, then it would turn on.

i complained to my manufacturer and they released a bios upgrade wich fixed that problem.

new problems:

sometimes when i turn it on, while the tray icons are loading the laptop freezes and i have to hold down the off button to turn it off. the frequency varies but today it hapened three times in a row and pissed me off.

the other problem is hangs. sometimes it hangs during anything, the sound will loop and a couple of secounds later it will unhang. during iternet surfing it looses internet connection. (anoying!) the worst of it is during games and films. (helo=hehehehehehehehehehehhehehhehhehelo). again the hanging varies, sometimes doesnt do it and sometimes very frequent.

im pretty sure this is a BIOS problem, i complained to the manufacture(2years warranty left) and they told me to call them. i explained exactly what my problem was so why call them?, they couldve just sent me an email.

This warning is very frequent in the event log manager:

well its a rare make-targa. bought from a budget store due to the price and 3 years warranty, .

http://www.targa.co.uk/index.jsp?SID...AREA=undefined

quick specs are:
  • xp media center 2005
  • amd turion tl-50 1.6 ghz
  • 1.5 gb ddr2 (upgraded from 1gb)
  • 100 gb toshiba hd
  • nvidia geforce 7400
  • 15.4" wxga(non reflective)
The specs are outdated ,being 1 and a half years old

but i have had this problem since the day i bought it infact ill probably give em call tommorow.

if i use their old bios i dont have the freezing/hanging problem, however, it refuses to turn on, without pulling out the battery and putting it back in.(odd, i know )

the newer bios does not have this problem but it hangs / freezes and ive put up with it for 1.4 years.

ill give em a call and report back, night.

It just sounds like a shoddy brand if it's freezing up horribly and they have to release BIOS updates to fix it.
