This has been my desktop replacement for the last year or so; it was puchased in June last year, so about a year old; and it has been a workhorse for me throughout the time, doing anything from programming, to running microarchitecture simulators, to web serfing, to gaming, etc.

It has never given me any issues, and has never had a blue screen. I have used it at times as test platform to run different Linux distros; right now I have it booting Vista Business, Ubuntu 7.10 and Ubuntu 8.04. Linux works pretty much perfectly on this system, never had to look for a driver for any device I need. And Compiz-Fusion also works without any problems and with great performance.

Specs:
  • CPU: Core 2 Duo T7400
  • Chipset: Intel 945PM
  • RAM: 3GB DDR2
  • Graphics: Geforce 7900GS
  • Screen: 1920X1200 WUXGA
  • HDD: 7200rpm 100GB
  • Wireless: Intel pro3945 and Bluetooth
  • Optical Drive: DVDRW
  • Vista Business and Linux Distro

It will also come with a couple of extras:
  • Dell graphite screen bezel cover
  • 4GB Lexar ExpressCard
--I use it for backups; and fits into the expresscard slot, and doesn't stick out from the laptop; so never a need to remove it for travelling.

I'm selling since I recently finished putting together my new desktop (with a radeon 4850 , after reading all the reviews); first time in 2 years that a desktop is my primary computer at home again. And this capable machine is more or less sitting idle now; hope there will be a good home for it somewhere.

I actually prefer to do a partial trade, since I will be needing a light portable laptop to supplement my T60. If anyone has something along the lines of a portable laptop in good working condition, we can talk. An older small laptop + some cash for the Inspiron would be ideal. What I'm looking for
  • The size range would be 9" to 14" screen range, with 12' as the most preferred size. Doesn't really make sense to trade for anything larger than 14, and 9" is about the smallest I can stand reading from.
  • Performance doesn't matter too much, it's just for general use.
  • It would definitely need to have built-in wireless.
  • Most other things we can negotiate
  • Something along the lines of: Thinkpad X30/31/32, 12" Powerbook, etc.

[strike]depending on the model and age, some cash may need to be added.
I know there needs to be a price, so let's just say $900 for now, shipped to lower 48.[/strike]

Since no one seems to have a small laptop to trade, then I will open it up for other stuff, something like $500 + something interesting; and lower price for a realistic sale, to [strike]$750 shipped[/strike] now $675 shipped to lower 48; see details below

Edit: Pictures have been added. Please try to reach me at chenli.21@gmail.com, or by posting; I do not check PMs that often

Probably not; it was purchased around this time last summer, so the standard warranty is expiring or has already expired.

I see that yours still has a substantial amount of warranty left; I would be willing to add things of value to make this deal work, possibly a Radeon 4850 or something along those lines.

If you can post some detailed specs for yours, that would be great.

I'll post some pictures in a minute.
