Why wont vista let me install new drivers

Well it all started when i lost my wi-fi drivers and tried installing them again but it just wont install. I gave up on wi-fi and now hard wired for the moment but have since brought a new printer and gps and it wont install the drivers for these too any help would be greatful

. were u running in admin mode?
. tried to manually install the driver, instead of letting vista looking for it?
. u wrote down the specific error code/message?

yes i was running as admin
i have tried to manually install drivers
and if remember right the code for the wifi was error code 1
and for the printer it was 23 or 28.
but this is happening for any new equipment i buy it wont load the drivers for some reason like the printer it loads all the software connects to the printer but just refuses to install drivers.

well my wifi is builtin intel por wireless 3945ABG
my printer is a hp F335 all in one
and my gps is LG portable navigator LN790

try remove/uninstall this device, start all over again with the HP NOT connected until being asked from the system. Check and see if u can get an uninstall utility from HP to clean up all dlls and files from previous installation

u might have more lucks by going direct to their forum sites for tips

what about ur comp brand and model? and is ur vista uptodate?
