Hardware Problems

I have an Inspiron E1505
For about 1 year I have had 2 different, but yet very similar 'blue screen of death' messages.
Dell had me do diagnostic tests, and has remotely assisted me with never finding what is the problem.
Twice in the past year I have restored my laptop to the factor settings, and still get the message.
Within the past couple of months when I am typing the curser jumps back into random places.
And most recently, the laptop just freezes.

I am very careful with what I download, and have virus protection.

Right now I'm at a loss at what to do. I have 2 local computer repair shops in mind to look at it.
But am not sure if it would be worth it to repair, as its almost 2 years old, and I am afraid the problems will continue anyway.

Does anyone have any insight on what could be going on?

TIA

Wow. If it still happens after a reformat it must be a hardware issue. You reformatted the hard drive correct? A full reformat and not a quick reformat?

I think it was the quick reformat

Try doing the full format.

If you have a friend with a laptop that also uses DDR2 memory you could do a temporary trade out to see if that fixes the issue. That's the most likely culprit even though a memory test won't turn up anything.

In my experience Dell's memory diagnostic won't find an issue with memory if the bad section of memory is being used by the video card. All E1505 video options share some memory with the rest of the system.

However, I'm surprised that Dell hasn't at least tried this at some point.
