Notebook video in suggestions.

Hello all. I have a brand new need for my laptop that I’ve never explored.
I’d like it to double as a monitor for the PS3 (wii & 360, but not as much as ps3)

So far I’ve taken a look at USB TV tuners. I picked up the TV Wonder 600 USB .

It does the trick, it has an adapter for composite in but the quality is awful (expected with composite in) & the audio lag is really bad. But, for example, I was able to calibrate Rock Band and it “barely” works, yet I still hit over 90% on expert so it is “doable” and does work.

My question is, can anyone recommend a way to put a video input on a notebook. I’m wide open to suggestions. I don’t need a tv tuner, just an input.

In a perfect world it would be an HDMI in that support audio. At least HD component cables would be great. Analog composite / S-Video is fine, but I need a bit better then the TV Wonder 600 USB.

Thanks in advance!

Are you looking to capture video? Or just run video through your notebook?

Just run video (and audio). i.e. Playing the PS3 while on the road.

Not gonna happen. Way too much lag will occur for it to be playable like you want it.

I dunno I have a friend with a sabrent tuner which supports video capture and input and he was able to rip vhs tapes in real-time pretty well.

Perhaps the difference is in the brand.

lag, not as in choppy quality, but slight or noticeable delay between signal and output. tolerable for recording but unusable for instant visual feedback (game controls to picture projection).
