hooking up to LCD help

I have a Dell Latitiude D620
When I hook it up to my 32" LCD the screen will turn off and back on by itself usually lasting a second or two. During a movie this may happen 10 times usually it is fine in the begining and about half way through it starts.
I cant seem to figure out the problem
any ideas is appreciated

What troubleshooting have you already done so we do not repeat steps.?


Try FN+F8
Check your video card drivers for updates.
Is your videocard configered correctly for this type of hook up?
Is it a computer LCD or TV LCD

does the 32" turn off when your LCD turns off?

has it ever worked correctly with another monitor?

what type port are you using svideo, vga, hdmi?
