Vostro 1400 question

Thread Starter
Hi, I rececntly had a dig around in my limited bios and it looks like my 2.0ghz dual core 2 duo processor is clocked to 1.6ghz. My friend has the same setup as me except he's got a 1.6 dual core 2 duo and in his setup it's also set to 1.6ghz. Specs for my pc are below but I'm slightly annoyed as i was hoping my laptop would be running at something near the speed i payed for. I could have bought the same setup as him for less than I've payed on this one. Is this normal? I understand that it's difficult to mess with a dell's bios but is there anything i can do to make use of my processors short of something drastic?

My system is as follows:

Dell vostro 1400
Intel core 2 duo T7250 @ 2.00ghz
2046mb RAM

My friends system:

Dell vostro 1500
intel core 2 duo @ 1.6ghz
2046mb RAM

If you'd like any more detailed information and can tell me where to find it (I'm not new to this, just ignorant) then just ask and I'll find it and update the post.

Thanks,
Alex

Yes , Check to see if your BIOS is updated to the newest version. We well make sure you do not have on any power save modes enabled. Are you plugged in to the AC or where you on the battery when you checked?
