Sound Studders After Replacing TouchPad

Hello,

I'm repairing my sister's Satellite A105-S4064 laptop after the TouchPad was broken.

1) I bought a scrap part from eBay (Toshiba Satellite A105 PalmRest TouchPad V000061560) and successfully replaced it the old piece using these instructions (up to step 19).

2) However, now sound studders and the computer is horribly slow.

3) I thought it was a driver problem after reading this forum and then reinstalled the RealTek audio and Synaptics TouchPad drivers from the Toshiba Reinstall DVD, but to no avail. The only other thing connected to the new TouchPad is the DVD Control Board (see this picture).

Ideas of what else to try? Thanks!
